Finding Confidence and Purpose: Sajjad’s Story
I’m Sajjad Alizada, originally from Afghanistan, and I’m the Online Presence Associate at Roshan Learning Center. My journey with Roshan began in 2017 as a secondary student. At the time, my English was broken, but with the support of Roshan’s English learning environment and dedicated volunteers, I gained the confidence to speak and present in English.
After graduating with a GED in 2020, I took on roles as a math teacher and began working on Roshan’s social media, which helped me develop my skills in photography, design, and video editing. Each experience has been a step in my growth, both personally and professionally. Today, I’m proud to give back to the community that helped me achieve so much. Roshan has transformed my life and the lives of many others, empowering refugees in Jakarta.
