Teacher Training
Roshan provides continuous, on-the-job training in social-emotional learning and foundational teaching skills to our volunteer teachers, most of whom have no formal teaching experience. This has also led to opportunities to share expertise externally to enhance education for both refugees and Indonesians.
Examples of past external training collaborations:
Introductory teacher training for unaccompanied refugee youth residing in shelters
Fundamentals of Teaching for refugee teachers in other refugee learning centers
SEL training for Indonesian public school teachers
SEL training for refugee teachers in other community-based learning centers
We are also proud that Roshan academic leaders have had opportunities to contribute to national education reform and improvement initiatives requiring expertise in SEL, student-centered learning, literacy, and learning disabilities.
