Next year, Roshan Learning Center will be celebrating its tenth anniversary: a decade of changing lives and inspiring hope among refugees in Indonesia.
As we look to 2024, we are celebrating that the Roshan story has grown deeper, wider, and richer. In 2014, we began with the simple goal of providing a safe space for refugee children to learn and play. Now, the impact of our work is more tangible than ever.
We are thrilled to see a new generation of leaders at Roshan as graduates eagerly step up to serve as teachers and staff. We are overjoyed to hear from resettled “alumni” as they use all that they've learned at Roshan to start new schools, jobs, and lives. We are honored to share whatever we have learned with organizations and refugee learning centers that are asking us how to better serve refugees in this transit context. And every day, our spirits are lifted as we see our students find delight in learning something new and simply being at Roshan.

This year, our Reflections campaign will feature stories from members of our refugee community as they reflect on their lives as refugees in Indonesia, their achievements at Roshan, and how Roshan has helped them to envision and pursue brighter futures. Some have been with Roshan for as many as 10 years and have incredible testimonies to share.
The theme of our campaign, Reflections, affirms that the light and hope found at Roshan are reflected and amplified through the inspiring lives of hundreds of Roshan students, volunteers, and alumni—both in Indonesia and abroad.
